The B.Des in Smart Product Design at MIT University, Shillong, is aimed at preparing students to design innovative, user-centric products that integrate advanced technologies like IoT, AI, and automation. This program combines industrial design, engineering, and technology to equip students with the skills necessary to create products that enhance the user experience and solve real-world problems.
Through a combination of design theory, technical knowledge, and hands-on experience, students will explore smart product development, including prototyping, design thinking, and product testing. The program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking to prepare students for careers in the fast-evolving fields of product design and technology.
Students will work on projects that involve designing products for diverse sectors such as healthcare, consumer electronics, automotive, and home automation, ensuring they gain practical exposure to the real-world challenges of smart product development.

As a design educator and practitioner, Pramod values the learner's journey as much as the final creation, emphasizing user-centered design methodology and aesthetic sensibilities enhanced by technological advancements to improve the quality of living across the socio-economic spectrum. At this point in his career, Pramod aspires to establish an institute of eminence that will transform budding designers into professionals capable of making significant societal changes.
