In a proposed collaborative effort expected to strengthen the educational infrastructure of the state and drive progress in the sector, Vice Chancellors from several leading private universities in the state have proposed the formation of the “Confederation of Meghalaya Private Universities.” The proposal was discussed during a meeting held on September 4 at Courtyard Marriott, Shillong, where the Vice Chancellors gathered to deliberate on the objectives and potential impact of this initiative.

On the morning of June 21, 2023, amidst torrential rains, MIT University demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the practice of yoga by gathering its students and staff to celebrate International Yoga Day. Leading the special occasion was renowned Yogacharya, Hemant Kumar Rai, who spoke about the significance of yoga and its numerous benefits to our health and well-being. This year marked the 9th International Yoga Day, with the theme “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
The event was hosted by the community secretary, W. Chyne in presence of Mawkasiang Headman, Tishalding Kharkangor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. D. Bhattacharya, along with the community members of the Mawkasiang.

Dr. Malhar Pangrikar stressed the need to design education to be inculcated in regular education as with design and sustainability perspective towards life. In design, there is no fragmentation like in any other discipline.
