MIT University, Meghalaya offers various scholarships, tuition fee waiver schemes, teaching and research assistance to meritorious, needy, and deserving students. This is an effort to make contemporary education affordable and reachable, and encourage academic excellence. The scholarships are instituted to recognize excellence in academics and sports, and support students from economically weaker sections. The quantum of scholarship and the number of scholarships are subject to revision and amendments from time to time. The changes shall be updated accordingly, and will be available on our website.

This is a merit-based scholarship applicable to students who have secured top three positions in 12th standard in their respective boards (CBSE/ ISC/ State Boards) and students who have taken JEE (Mains). The scholarships are awarded depending upon the score secured in the examination.

This is a merit-cum-means scholarship applicable to students who have secured minimum 90% marks (PCM) or 80% marks (Arts/ Commerce) in 12th standard in the respective boards (CBSE/ ISC/ State Boards). The quantum of scholarship shall be determined based on annual income of parents.

This is a sports scholarship applicable to students who have participated and won medal/s at national and international level.

This is a teaching assistance scheme applicable to students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance and are desirous of contributing to the university. The student is expected to contribute a specific number of hours per week and per month in assisting teaching and development activities of the university.

This is a research assistance scheme applicable to students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance and are desirous of contributing to the university. This is a need-based, earn-and-learn scheme applicable to students who are desirous of contributing to the university in some way and wish to earn to support their education. This is a performance-based scholarship applicable to students who have demonstrated extraordinary performance during the academic year. This scholarship will be awarded based on the overall performance of students in various activities along with academic excellence.

• This is a merit-based scholarship applicable to students who have secured minimum 80% marks, 70% and 60% in the respective boards (CBSE/ISC/State Boards)

• The above-mentioned scholarship is applicable for the 1st year only in B. Design Course and will be processed in the 2nd semester.
• From the 2nd year onwards, to avail the same scholarship, it will be based on the eligibility and performance of the students.

• The continuation of all scholarships is dependent on consistently high academic performance. The students are expected to meet pre-defined academic standards for the continuation of the scholarship.
• The scholarship can be renewed based on the performance in the university examination, attendance, and character and conduct certified by the Dean.
• The renewal of sports scholarship depends on the performance in sports after admission to the university.
• The scholarship shall stand discontinued if the student is found guilty of any misconduct or indiscipline.
